Clintrials in the South Baltic

The German KKS-Centers serve as a possible approach for the setup of joint clinical trial services in the South Baltic Region.

The funding granted by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research in 2005 lead to the setup  of Coordinating Centres for Clinical Trials (Koordinierungszentren für Klinische Prüfungen) in whole Germany at the university hospitals.

The core business of the KKS is the full support of investigator-initiated clinical trials. In addition, the KKS are often responsible for supervising the sponsor function of the University Hospitals through conduct of compulsory counselling and internal audits.
